‘Dancing With the Stars’ takes on the first celebrities during the season premiere on Disney+

“Dancing with the Stars” moved to Disney+ on Monday night, streaming coast-to-coast, and the first part concluded with a cancellation.

(Spoiler alert: This story reveals who came home on “DWTS”).

At the end of the two-hour season 31 premiere, which allowed all-night voting via text, a couple were left at the bottom 2 — “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Teresa Giudice and professional Pasha Pashkov, and “Sex and the City” alum Jason. Lewis and loyalist Beta Murgatroyd. It ended up with a pair that was eliminated, Lewis and Murgatroyd.

“I am so sad that I have to go home,” Lewis said, noting that everyone was so supportive amongst the cast during his short time on the show.

While Giudice and Lewis relegated near the bottom of the leaderboard on Monday night with their pros, Jersey Shore’s Vinnie Guadagnino and pro Koko Iwasaki were actually in the lowest position. However, it was saved by the viewer’s text messages to carry on to the next week – Elvis Week.

The live stream premiere has now gone off with virtually no problems. At one point, host Tyra Banks announced the wrong couple at the top of the leaderboard, but noted that she had received misinformation and quickly corrected it.

“Dancing with the Stars” in general felt familiar, despite it being a flowy one, as the show was moving quickly throughout the night. Instead of commercials, in between competition dances, the professional band would come out and perform versions of the dances the celebrities had to do.

Wayne Brady, host of “Let’s Make a Deal,” came out as the early frontrunner for this evening, scoring 29 out of 40 in Cha Cha with his professional partner Whitney Carson.

“Welcome to Wayne’s Dance Floor. “The level of performance is through the roof,” said Judge Bruno Tonioli, after Brady and Carson combined some of Michael Jackson’s moves with Cha Cha. “You got it and you know what to do with it.”

Carrie Ann Inaba told Brady that it was “cool”, while jury chair Lynne Goodman called their routine “the sexiest dance of the night yet.”

But there was more to come. “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum and “We’re Here” star Shangela hit the dance floor with Gleb Savchenko for a potent sauce that left fourth official Derek Hough impressed.

“You were so amazing. You have so much energy,” he said.

Selma Blair, who has multiple sclerosis, danced with Sasha Farber, who she said was her neighbour. The pair performed a Viennese waltz that left others on the ballroom, including competitor Jordin Sparks and professional Pasha Pashkov, in tears.

“You really created magic tonight,” said Tonioli.

But Charli D’Amelio, the star of TikTok, who finally went on a cha cha game with returning pro Mark Ballas, topped the leaderboard.

“This performance is really the cherry on the cake,” said Tonioli.
