Donna Mills believes her dedication to breaking a sweat was essential to staying young.
The former “Knots Landing” star caused a stir in December when she revealed some Secrets of keeping fit To AARP – The Journal. Now, the 82-year-old is sharing a sneak peek into her workout regimen for those seeking to kick-start their New Year’s resolutions.
“I didn’t stop exercising just because I was getting old,” the actress told Fox News Digital. “I think a lot of people tend to have the mentality of, ‘I’m too old now. You don’t need to do that anymore. But I think it’s the opposite, you have to keep moving, and I think it’s very important to sweat every day.
“There are days when it can be hard because I have to be on the set at 7am. But I think the key is to set aside that time every day where you can just sweat. I think that’s really important. Your body is going to kind of atrophy if you don’t keep going.” in using it.”

Mills said she’s not a fan of going to the gym because it can be awkward “having other people around” in the middle of a workout. Therefore, she decided to create a space in her home where she could exercise at any time. She is also a fan of tennis and plays five times a week for two hours.
“I have a peloton, and I absolutely love it,” she said. “It helps me explore the world while I’m in it. It’s really cool and fun, and I also think it’s important if you want to stick with something. There are some classes around it too that you can do if you need an extra motivation.”
“It takes you to almost as many beautiful places. I also keep a bunch of light weights nearby. Nothing heavy. I’m also a dancer, so I have my own ballet barre for stretching. It’s really good for keeping your legs in good shape and keeps these Flexibility. If you don’t have one, a kitchen counter works well.”
Mills previously told AARP that, during her TV series years, she “didn’t eat pasta or sugar or bread or ice cream or cookies or any of that stuff.” Mills admitted that the no-nonsense approach isn’t the easiest, but it kept her character in camera-ready shape.

“I keep telling myself, ‘You should go back to what you did back then,’” she laughed. “It made me very healthy. I never miss A day’s work on “Knots Landing”. For nine years I have not missed a day of work. And I think it was because I ate really well, which kept me healthy.”
“It’s not that I didn’t eat pasta. I didn’t eat starches. I ate mostly protein and vegetables and that was it. I rarely had a glass of wine because it had so much sugar in it, and I never had sugar back then. I still really believe that White sugar is poison.”
While she’s been laid back about her eating habits, Mills said she prioritizes eating “clean and green” food with a diet rich in vegetables.

Mills also considered taking a break from Hollywood. she I became a mother at the age of 54 When she adopted her daughter, Chloe.

“I worked out the first two years when she was an infant, it was a bit of a small thing,” said Mills. “It’s because I could take her with me on set, and it was great. She was with me all the time. But as soon as I started going to school, I knew I wasn’t going to drop her off for the movies. I didn’t. I didn’t want to take her out of her school either. So it wasn’t a decision.” Difficult. Luckily, I was in a position where I didn’t have to work. And that was the most beautiful time. My whole focus was on her mom. I never regretted making that decision.”

“I met [actor and producer] Larry Gelman is 60 years old,” Mills told AARP. I got lucky. Kiss, I kind of went for the bad boys. But when I met him, I knew I was going for the not-so-bad boy.”
Life has proven fruitful, she said.

“We have a big hill behind our house,” said Mills. “Larry wanted to build a vineyard there. And I said, ‘No, you’re crazy, the vines are going to crowd out the hill.'” I was worried. It was one of the few fights we’ve ever had. He didn’t listen to me, and it’s a good thing he didn’t. The vines reinforced the hill, and now we have Our own commercial vineyards. And it’s just beautiful.”
