Contributed Content – Sand Hollow Resort Golf Week returns next week with an exciting lineup of events and a new philanthropist, as well as plenty of opportunities for viewers to enjoy the game.
“Sand Hollow is delighted to host this week of amazing golf,” said Adam Jasper, Resort Operations Manager at The Sand Hollow Resort.
Originally a tournament created to help emerging professional golfers support their career aspirations, golf week It evolved into three compelling days of play that will see current and former professional athletes, alumni of Utah schools and golfers from Scotland playing for charity on the links of Sand Hollow Resort. Golf Week is free and open to the public to watch.

On the first day of golf week, golfers in southern Utah face 16 players from St. Andrews, Scotland, a town known worldwide as the “Home of Golf,” in a friendly competition. The Friendship Cup is the first stop for an international Ryder Cup-style competition that will conclude with another round of play at St Andrews Links in Scotland.
Play will begin from the back nine holes of the championship course at 7:45 a.m. Monday, the nine-hole links court at 11:30 a.m. and the front nine of the championship at 2:30 p.m.
Zion Bank University Cup
Alumni and supporters from across the region will compete for bragging rights and a generous wallet during the University Cup, presented by Zion’s Bank. Participating schools include Utah State University, Weber State University, University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Southern Utah University, Utah Tech, and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. The event begins at 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
Players were recruited by each university’s golf coach to form teams of eight. A total of $50,000 is available for grabs, with prizes for first, second and third place. The funds will support the golf programs of the winning universities.

Join the Stars Under the Stars Tuesday from 7 to 10 p.m. for the highlight of Golf Week, the fundraising event. Proceeds will benefit the DDx Foundation, a physician-run nonprofit that seeks to accelerate progress in prostate cancer research and treatment by making clinical specimen and data sharing seamless.
Celebrate with new friends and meet old friends at the stunning Rock Bowl, the outdoor amphitheater of the 15,000-square-foot resort that is considered one of the finest entertainment venues in southern Utah. The party features great food, drink and live music, along with opportunities to bid on exclusive golf rounds and memberships in Scotland. Tickets are available for $75 per person and can be purchased Online.
Leavitt Charity Cup
On Wednesday, players representing the Utah Jazz will compete against the Las Vegas Raiders to raise money for the DDx Foundation. This is the third year of current and former professional athletes participating in Golf Week, Jaspersson said.
Each team consists of 30-35 competitors who will play three nine-hole matches. Play will begin from the back nine holes of the championship course at 7:45 a.m. Monday, the nine-hole links court at 11:30 a.m. and the front nine of the championship at 2:30 p.m.
